What can I contribute to ISTTE as a VP
I have been a member of ISTTE for over a decade. I have served on the board previously, have been Conference Chair for two ISTTE conferences and currently serve as the assistant editor for the Journal of Teaching in Travel & Tourism. I have been a contributor in one way or another for over a decade and believe in the organization and its mission.
Platform Statement
As pedagogy has become increasingly challenging, a need to have an organization like ISTTE, which shares best practices and approaches, has become increasingly important. I want to create an organization where teachers can build partnerships across networks to share innovations in pedagogical approaches, discuss classroom evolution, and build a support network where questions and issues can be addressed not just once a year at the annual conference but on an ongoing basis.

What can I contribute to ISTTE as a VP
As a member of ISTTE for I have been able to learn more of the organization and benefit from partnerships made with members. I’m now in a position in my career track to further represent our field and serve as a mentor to future educators and researchers. I would be honoured to do so with the organization that was instrumental in developing aspects of my industry connections and projects. I add the unique aspect of being a non-tenure teaching faculty member at an R1 university, and could offer mentorship to ISTTE members interested in this career path.
