I strongly believe in volunteering my time and expertise to the academy in a variety of ways. As I continue to evolve my research and teaching in the areas of education and human resourcesspecific issues, becoming involved in ISTTE remains a top priority. I enjoy being engaged with other academics and industry practitioners from around the world to develop innovative ways to enhance higher education. How would you be able to contribute to the progression of ISTTE as President ? While my tenure on the Executive Committee as Interim Vice President has been short, I have found it to be both enjoyable and challenging. If given the chance to fill the role of President for ISTTE, I hope to contribute to the association’s trajectory in meeting and surpassing its strategic objectives. Further, due to my new appointment in the School of Hotel & Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I hope to expand the visibility of the association in this region of the world. Given the prevalence of tourismfocused programs, particularly in mainland China, I think there is an immense opportunity to increase membership and engagement amongst a variety of stakeholders, be they within, or outside, academia
