Welcome to the 45th ISTTE Annual Conference
The International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators (ISTTE) is delighted to announce Breda, the Netherlands, as the host city for its 45th Annual Conference from 21-23 October 2026.
A Year of Celebrations
This conference marks a special milestone year: ISTTE's 45th Annual Conference, the Journal of Teaching in Travel & Tourism (JTTT) 25th anniversary, and host Breda University of Applied Sciences' 60th anniversary.
Theme: "Digital, Responsible, Resilient: Evolving Skills in Tourism Education and Research"
Digital — AI, data analytics, and digital transformation. Responsible — regenerative, sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility. Resilient — adaptive systems, crisis management, and human-centric competencies.
Building on recent themes “Tailored Experiences” (2025), "Changing Paradigms" (2024) and "Redefining Critical Issues" (2023), this year's theme explores the skills and adaptive processes required for the future of tourism education.
The conference connects to "Teaching and Learning with AI in Europe" (19-20 October), hosted at BUas and co-organized with the University of Central Florida. These two separate events, in one location, and under one roof, provide a unique week of engagement with technology, pedagogy, and tourism education.
